Workshops

Cost

Workshops are open to all ages. Workshops are free to anyone under 14 and cost $5 for anyone 14 and older. The $5 workshop fee is donated to MusiCounts. MusiCounts is an music industry charity with a goal to keep music alive in schools across Canada.

Saturday May 29, 2010 - 11 a.m. to Noon

MG3 Workshop - MG3 will play a few pieces from their program followed by a demonstration and explanation about the specific guitar techniques used by the trio. Bring your guitars to experiment with the artists our just come out of curiosity.

Amy Bishop Workshop - Amy will conduct a song writing workshop

Beth Root Sandvoss - Back by popular demand. "Calling all instrumentalists! Bring your instruments and participate in creative collaboration." All ages and instruments.

Sunday May 30, 2010 - 11 a.m. to Noon

MG3 Workshop - MG3 explain and show examples of their guitar technique and they play a few pieces. Attendees will have time to ask questions and experiment. For those players with a little experience.

Elizabeth Shepherd Workshop - Working together - Elizabeth will be exploring the idea of "trading" in jazz.  We will look at ways of getting over the hurdle of intimidation and self-criticism, by using the collective group to explore your own creative voice.

Beth Rood Sandvoss - A continuation of the first workshop on Saturday to develop the collaboration further, if you were not able to attend on Saturday fear not come and pick up the threads of the theme. All ages and instruments.
